Classroom Expectations:
- Show respect to self, others, and other’s possessions.
- Do not take away from others’ learning experience.
- Be safe in class and in labs.
- Cell phone and computer use is ONLY for classwork
- When you enter the room you are mentally and physically ready to learn.
Classroom Rules:
- No cellphones in class (they will be stored until class is over).
- No food in class. Water is allowed, but no soft drinks or sports drinks
- Do not blurt answers...raise your hand
- Assigned seats are not optional
Remember: There will be consequences for your actions: it is your choice of they are GOOD or BAD!!
Vocabulary, tests and quizzes:
Each unit will have a summative test and vocabulary test.
Each lesson will have its own vocabulary that you must study on Quizlet.com
Quizzes will be given at the end of each lesson
Labs:
Approximately one lab per lesson (not daily) will be given for hands on learning. Labs are 20% of grade for that grading period.
Projects:
Approximately one project per unit will be given. These will consist of digital project, poster, demonstration, presentation, drawing or other type of project that meets the STEAM requirements for EMS.
Homework:
Homework should be rarely assigned for the purpose of being completed at home. If a student has “homework”, then it is left over work from class that they should have completed during class time. Projects may be completed at home, but students should have some class time and the project should be completed over a length of time and not in one night.
Remind.com:
I use this website to communicate to students. I like this because students and I can communicate via texts safely. I do not have their “phone number” and they do not have mine. Using this app on my phone I can remind for homework, assignments, tests, and much more. Also students can ask questions of me on their cell phone or computer.
